2 Product Overview
The THHN 14 AWG building wire is a UL-certified single-conductor copper wire designed for general-purpose electrical wiring in commercial, industrial, and residential applications. It meets the requirements of UL 83 (Thermoplastic-Insulated Wires) and UL 1063 (Machine-Tool Wire), ensuring compliance with North American electrical codes.
The soft annealed bare copper conductor provides excellent electrical conductivity with low DC resistance. Available in both solid and stranded (Class B 19-strand) constructions, the stranded variant offers enhanced flexibility for installations requiring tighter bends or frequent movement.
The PVC insulation combined with a nylon (polyamide) jacket delivers superior protection against abrasion, moisture, oil, and chemicals. The nylon jacket also provides a low-friction surface that simplifies pulling through conduit runs, reducing installation time and labor costs.
