2 Product Overview
The RVV 4 core 1.5mm² flexible control cable is designed for control circuits, signal transmission, and low-voltage power supply in industrial and commercial applications. It conforms to GB/T 5023.5-2008 (equivalent to IEC 60227-5) and carries CCC certification.
The 4-core configuration includes three phase/neutral conductors (Brown, Grey, Black) and a Green/Yellow earth conductor, making it suitable for single-phase and three-phase control circuits. The Class 5 flexible stranded copper construction ensures easy routing in control panels and cable trays.
The PVC insulation and sheath provide reliable electrical insulation and mechanical protection. The cable is flame retardant per IEC 60332-1 and suitable for installation in conduit, trunking, or cable trays in dry and damp environments.
Manufactured to rigorous quality standards under the management of SORIVO, each batch is tested for conductor resistance, insulation thickness, and dielectric integrity. For detailed company information, please visit sorivocable.com/about-us/.

5 FAQ
What is the current rating for RVV 4×1.5mm² cable?
For 4-core 1.5mm² RVV cable at 30°C ambient, typical current ratings are approximately 14A (clipped direct) and 11A (in conduit). Actual ratings depend on installation conditions and ambient temperature.
What are the core colours in RVV 4-core cable?
The standard colour coding is: Brown (L1), Grey (L2), Black (L3), and Green/Yellow (earth). This follows the international IEC colour code convention for multi-core power and control cables.
Can RVV cable be used for three-phase applications?
Yes, the 4-core configuration with Brown, Grey, Black, and Green/Yellow makes it suitable for three-phase control circuits with earth protection, up to 300/500V rated voltage.
What is the difference between RVV 300/300V and 300/500V?
300/300V (IEC 52) is light duty with 0.5-0.75mm² and 2-3 cores. 300/500V (IEC 53) is ordinary duty with up to 2.5mm² and 2-5 cores, with thicker insulation for higher voltage withstand.
Is this cable suitable for outdoor installation?
Standard RVV is intended for indoor use. For outdoor or direct burial applications, we recommend XLPE-insulated armoured cables or UV-stabilised PVC sheathed variants. Please consult with SORIVO for specific outdoor requirements.
